This policy explains what information JalenSteelFit collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers our website (jsfitcoaching.com) and our client portal (portal.jsfitcoaching.com).
Who we are
Jalen Steel, doing business as JalenSteelFit ("JalenSteelFit," "we," "us") provides one-on-one online fitness coaching. Questions about this policy go to jalensteel12@gmail.com.
What we collect
When you apply on jsfitcoaching.com
Your first name, email, phone number, Instagram handle (optional), age range, fitness goal, how often you work out, what you're struggling with, how committed you are, and how you found us.
When you're a client in the portal
- Account: your name, email, phone number, and a passcode. Passcodes are stored in hashed form by our login provider; we can't see them.
- Intake: date of birth, sex, height, occupation, goals, training history, schedule, equipment, eating habits, food budget, allergies, dietary preferences, supplements, alcohol and water intake, sleep, stress, and energy.
- Health and safety screening: injuries, medical conditions, medications, and your answers to a physical activity readiness questionnaire (PAR-Q+).
- Progress: weight, body measurements, progress photos, and your weekly check-in answers.
- Messages and community: messages you send us, and posts or comments you share in the community.
- Agreements: the date you accepted our terms and signed the waiver, and the name you signed with.
Automatically
Like any website, our hosting provider receives technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. This is used to deliver the site and keep it secure. We don't run analytics or advertising trackers on either site.
Health information
Intake answers, health screening, measurements, and progress photos are sensitive. We collect them only to coach you safely and effectively, and we use them for nothing else. Progress photos are stored privately and are visible only to you and your coach. We never use your photos or results in marketing without your separate, written permission.
JalenSteelFit is a coaching service, not a medical provider, and is not covered by HIPAA. We still treat your health information with the same care.
How we use it
- To review your application and contact you by phone or email about coaching.
- To build, run, and adjust your training and nutrition plan.
- To screen for safety before and during coaching.
- To run the portal: your account, check-ins, messages, community, and cookbook.
- To keep records we're required to keep, and to protect our rights.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with the services that run our sites, and only as needed:
- Vercel hosts both sites.
- Supabase stores portal data and files and handles sign-in.
- Formspree receives application form submissions and forwards them to us by email.
- Google Fonts serves the fonts on jsfitcoaching.com. Your browser connects to Google to load them, which shares your IP address with Google. The portal serves its own fonts.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.
Community posts
What you post in the portal community is visible to other signed-in members. Don't share anything there you want kept between you and your coach.
How long we keep it
If you apply and don't become a client, we delete your application within 12 months. Client information is kept while you're coaching with us and for up to 2 years after, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Signed agreements may be kept longer where the law requires.
How we protect it
Data travels over encrypted connections. Portal data is protected so each client can only access their own information, progress photos and videos sit in private storage reached through short-lived links, and only the coach account can see client records. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours safe.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct, export, or delete your information, or to stop contacting you. Email jalensteel12@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state's privacy law; we honor them. We won't treat you differently for using them.
Children
Our sites aren't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian's consent to apply or become a client.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes affecting clients, we'll let you know in the portal.
